Welcome to the not so secret garden of Planting Fields Arboretum.
It surprises me when I come across a local person who does't know this place exists, but it probably Shouldn't. I seem to have forgotten I was 19 years old the first time I was introduced to the enchanting gardens of Planting Fields Arboretum. I can recall be amazed by the colorful display of spring flowers . As an adult, I consider this place a long island landmark like the big duck or the Montauk light house. Though, for many it another one of Long Island's hidden gems waiting to be discovered.
Just a few weeks ago, I was fortunate to give Julie her first tour right in the prime of early spring. I think it is safe to say she enjoyed the cherry blossoms, playing in the dirt and running the grounds with her new ducky, Crackers, as she has named him.
As a Children's portrait photographer of Long Island, I'm excited to say this is the first of many sessions I will bring to Planting Fields Arboretum.
